As a Sylvan Lake and Vail family photographer, I was so excited to get to photograph the Irwin Family in the mountains of Colorado. I’ve had the privilege of watching this cute family grow over the years. They have been with me from the beginning of my photography career and are always willing to be some great models for me when I’m wanting to try something new.
This time around we went up to Sylvan Lake near Vail, Colorado to have their family photo session. Since their last family session, baby Savannah joined the family. If you haven’t seen baby Savannah’s adorable “princess frog” themed newborn session, you can check that out here. Sylvan Lake is a really beautiful lake where you can camp, fish, kayak and go hiking. It’s a really great place to go if you’re looking to get away for the weekend but are still close to modern conveniences.
We started outside of the main park near the nature center, which has some great views of the Rocky Mountains in the background before moving into the park itself. We had a great time playing in a beautiful meadow and the nearby creek. There’s so much great scenery at Sylvan Lake that there was no way we were not going to get some amazing family photos.
