The Vagina Monologues Part 2 | Swallow Hill Music | Denver Event Photographer

Welcome to Part 2 of The Vagina Monologues series. If you missed Part 1 where I featured the actresses and the fun headshots we took, please go check it out here.

A little over a month ago, I had the pleasure of getting to see and photograph the annual performance of the Obie Award winning play known as The Vagina Monologues written by Eve Ensler. The all woman cast performed two shows to a packed theater at Swallow Hill Music in Denver. This was the 2nd year that I got to be involved in shooting the event and the third year getting to see the play. It’s always a great time and the women involved work really hard to put on a great performance, which also goes to some really great causes.

Keep reading to learn a little more about the play and to see all of the great performances from the play. If you want to keep up to date on when the play will be performed again or like to help by volunteering, please check out and “like” their Facebook Page for more information.

About The Vagina Monologues

The production is a whirlwind tour of a forbidden zone. The Vagina Monologues introduces a wildly divergent gathering of female voices, including a six-year-old girl, a septuagenarian New Yorker, a vagina workshop participant, a woman who witnesses the birth of her granddaughter, a Bosnian survivor of rape, and a feminist happy to have found a man who “liked to look at it.”

Each year there is a theme or focus associated with the play. This year spotlighted “Violence Against Women in the Workplace” which happens to takes place everyday. It does not matter what country you’re from, what you’re social status is, or what type of job you are performing. This year, they honored all of those women by demanding a safe, violence-free workplace and the money raised will go towards organizations that help eliminate those types of environments such as The Colorado Coalition Against Domestic Violence and The Crisis Center.
