Today, I’d like to you all to meet the Moffitt Family. I got to meet Megan, Tyler, Julien & Sterling back in the spring when I did a photo session of the kids as a surprise wedding anniversary present from Megan’s mother. Megan loved the photos from that session so much that they decided to schedule a full family photo session which we did back in June. After our initial phone consultation, we decided that Golden Ponds Nature Area would be the best location for their family session.
I’ve shot at Golden Ponds many times and it’s a great place for a family photo session, especially in the summer time. That’s when the tress are full of leaves and the water area is full and that makes it a great location. However, summer temps and water tend to mean that mosquitos are also in full bloom. I think I got more bug bites from this particular session than any other this year and it’s the reason I always try to make sure I have bug spray with me during my sessions.
As with all sessions with small children, I had to work fast and try to keep the boys entertained. This can include playing games and bringing a favorite toy with to the session. This helped keep the boys distracted for a little while. One of the best and easiest ways to do that is with bubbles. What kid doesn’t like to play with bubbles and it can make some of the pictures look really cool. I always try to get a good variety of different photos but I especially love the photos between Megan and her two boys. There’s no denying how much she loves them.
